Chinese word of the day: Xiangqing-means-details
British word of the day: Pants-means-boxers
So while I rest in my room I have a lot of time to write in my blogs. It’s hard because I feel a little weak but I have nothing else to do so I will try to fill in a few Xiangqing for you.

A few people asked me about the weather here. Like I said before, it gets cold and hot and cold randomly but imagine seeing a grey sky in the morning with cold winds and then after ten minutes rays of sunlight breaks through the clouds making the view really look like a ancient Chinese painting. In my pictures of me on top of the mountain you can see the grey sky. Half of the day is like that and the other half is sunny and hot. Ever since I got here the amount of sunlight is slowly decreasing. The grey sky is lasting longer. The winds are getting colder. I’m no weather man but I can sense the snow will be coming soon. I am looking forward to snow. I’ve never actually seen snow fall before. I have only been on trips to places that already has snow on the ground. Soon I get to experience ‘snowing’ in a whole different country. I still can’t believe I’m here sometimes I think I’m still in a dream.
Other people asked about the training. The training after breakfast is the morning run and class. That’s about 2 hours of Wing Chun class for me. Before we start any class we do warm up drills which includes the basic stretching, finger tip push ups, and ‘planks’ on our fists. ‘Planks’ are when you hold yourself in a push up position on you knuckles. It strengthens your core muscles. In that class we practice ‘line drills’ where we get in two lines and do kicks and punches across the room. After that, we split into groups to learn our ‘form’. I just learned the whole ‘first form’ so when I get healthy again I will start on the ‘second form’. After a ten minute break the second class starts. In second class we usually do ‘conditioning’ where we hit trees and each other, practice on the punching bags, or practice kick boxing, depending on the day of the week it is. Then after two hours of class we have lunch. We have a nice long two hour and thirty min break to digest our food then the bell rings for the afternoon run.
Then we have another two hour training. My afternoon class usually practices ‘Baji Fist form’. This is a more of a grappling/power form while Wing Chun is more of a internal energy style form. I will elaborate on the different styles when I know more myself. Then after that class I have a break till dinner and then my evening classes. Mandarin class and Monday-Wednesday and Thursdays are acupuncture and massage class. Then Sam and I have lights out in our room around 7pm and we knock out. I think Sam and I are the only room that has their lights off at 7pm. our neighbors have their lights on and are still up. Round 7pm I’m exhausted. I’m glad Sam is a early sleeper.
Those were the two main questions I get about my experience here so if you have any more questions please ask or email me and if I am still sick I will have a lot of time on my hands to go into detail….Xiangqing.
Goodnight
