"Life is either a great adventure or nothing"-H.Keller.
Two months ago, I made a decision that I know will change my life. Two months ago, I made a decision to go on an adventure, far away from all the family and friends, for six months. Two months ago, I made a decision to go to China. All my friends and family members are still shocked to this day that I am leaving so soon. Two months may seem like a short period of time to decide to leave my home for six months and go to China, but the truth is, it all started about two years ago. My father and I looked up different Kung Fu schools that I would want to attend after high school. At that time, I wasn't too sure that I would want to go, but after we researched a few schools I wanted to go. As the years went by, I forgot about my adventure to the Orient to learn the ways of Kung Fu. When I was reaching the end of my senior year in High School, my father asked me if I still wanted to go to China. I didn't know what to say. The pros and cons where going threw my head. If I leave and go to China I would lose many friends, miss out on a lot of important holidays with family, and possibly lose my girlfriend. But if I go I would be able to learn Kung Fu, mandarin, and experience life in a whole different way in China. Plus who can say I learned Kung Fu in China? I'm sure not a lot of people here in Stockton can. While I debated with myself if I should go or not, a couple months past. Time was running out and I had to make a decision. I chose China. When I decided to go to China I had a lot of time left here with family and friends. Now, I only have 16 days left in America, only 16 days left with my friends, only 16 days left until I leave home. The thought of leaving so soon does scare me, but a thought can't stop me from going on this adventure. I know I will gain many skills, many life changing memories, and many stories I can't wait to share. This will be the biggest adventure I've ever been on and I am ready.
